VINEYARD LOCATION: The soil is layered, with clays on the surface and pebbles and sand underneath. These vineyards are located on top of a natural terrace, where the sun warms up the vines from the early morning until the sunset. The breeze coming from the Monte Rosa donates to this area specific microclimate characteristics, with a big temperature gap between day and night which enhance the aromatic profile of the grapes. The vineyards were planted in 1997/1998.
VARIETY: Nebbiolo 100%, training system: Guyot.
HARVEST: 2018 has been a hot yet balanced vintage, which carried the grapes to a perfect ripeness point with great quality. The grapes were handpicked on the first days of October and collected in 20 kg baskets. The yield was 70 q.li/ha. The alcoholic fermentation was conducted in stainless steel tanks and followed by 20 days of maceration. The wine then was moved to 500 liters wood casks, for 8 months of aging. The wine was finally bottled in March 2020.
COLOUR: ruby red.
AROMA: intense, floreal, pleasant and refined.
TASTE: full, smooth and balanced.
FOOD PAIRINGS: thanks to its good structure it pairs well with red meat slowly cooked, as well as with tasty and rich first courses and aged cheese.
